Dr. Bethany Arabic, O.D.

Dr. Bethany Arabic was born and raised in Lisbon, Connecticut. She graduated from Simmons University in Boston, MA in 2021 summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and minor in biostatistics. During her time as an undergraduate student, she conducted biological research at Simmons and vision science research at Brown University.

Dr. Arabic earned her Doctor of Optometry and Masters in Vision Science degrees from New England College of Optometry (NECO) in Boston in 2025. While a student at NECO, she worked as a tutor for various science classes and earned multiple scholarships from the Connecticut Association of Optometrists, as well as a national training grant to conduct low vision research (T35). Her clinical experience includes Perkins School for the Blind, Boston Medical Center, Tufts Medical Center, Cotting School, Bedford Veterans Affairs Medical Center, East Boston Community Health Center, and Newport Naval Base. She has worked with patients of all ages and complex needs with specialty training in assistive technology, trial frame refraction, and visual field evaluation. In May 2025, she was awarded the Optelec Excellence in Low Vision Award. Dr. Arabic has presented her research at various scientific conferences across the United States and internationally, including the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) and the International Society for Low Vision Research and Rehabilitation (ISLRR).

Dr. Arabic brings compassion and dedication to each exam and looks forward to meeting the Killingly and surrounding towns communities!
