Dr. Erik C. Lachendro, O.D.

Dr. Erik Lachendro is a native of Connecticut, born and raised in Enfield.

He did his undergrad at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC, graduating in 2014 magna cum laude earning his Bachelors of Science degree in Molecular Biology. He then went on to work in the biotech industry at various pharmaceutical companies such as Pfizer, Biogen, and Sanofi primarily working on gene therapy research. He also worked at the Environmental Protection Agency in helping regulate pesticides used in farming practices.

Dr. Lachendro decided after 6 years of working in the biotech industry that he wanted a new challenge and decided to switch to the medical field. He started as an Optometric technician here at Killingly Eye Care where he learned what it meant to take care of patients and their vision, fully immersing himself in every aspect of the practice. After 2 years he made the decision to become an optometrist. He attended Western University of Health Sciences College of Optometry (WUCO) in Southern California, where he graduated in 2026.

Dr. Lachendro is excited to be back where his journey began delivering the quality care, compassion, and empathy that is expected from Killingly Eye Care.
