Pachymetry is a simple, painless test to measure the thickness of your cornea. Because ocular pressure readings can be influenced by the corneal thickness it is important for your doctor to know how thick your cornea is. Pachymetry readings are very important in helping determine your risk for glaucoma.

We also use pachymetry for refractive surgery candidates.  When undergoing Lasik it is critical to know the thickness of the cornea to determine if refractive surgery is a viable option for the patient.
